Helpful Hints When Selling Your House

- Do not mask bad smells with deordizers - get rid of the cause
- Do not have more than 3 different types of flooring in your house
- Use size-appropriate furniture
- A new doormat can create an inviting feeling to buyers.
- Clean carpets or drapes that need it.
- Clean windows.
- Clear all unnecessary objects from the kitchen count
- Coordinate towels to one or two colors only in your bathrooms
- Clean all gutters
- Weed and then mulch all planting areas
- Keep plants from blocking windows
- Check paint condition of the house — especially the front door and trim
- Go around the perimeter of the house and move all garbage cans, discarded wood scraps, extra building materials, etc.,
- Ensure cupboards open and shut and that no taps are dripping
- Appliances should sparkle even if you’re not including them with the house
- Open some windows for at least 10 minutes - let in some fresh air
- Don’t forget fresh flowers. You don’t need to spend a fortune to have fresh flowers throughout your home. Even a daisy in a bud vase brightens a bathroom counter
