  • Do not mask bad smells with deordizers - get rid of the cause
  • Do not have more than 3 different types of flooring in your house
  • Use size-appropriate furniture
  • A new doormat can create an inviting feeling to buyers.
  • Clean carpets or drapes that need it.
  • Clean windows.
  • Clear all unnecessary objects from the kitchen count
  • Coordinate towels to one or two colors only in your bathrooms
  • Clean all gutters
  • Weed and then mulch all planting areas
  • Keep plants from blocking windows
  • Check paint condition of the house — especially the front door and trim
  • Go around the perimeter of the house and move all garbage cans, discarded wood scraps, extra building materials, etc.,
  • Ensure cupboards open and shut and that no taps are dripping
  • Appliances should sparkle even if you’re not including them with the house
  • Open some windows for at least 10 minutes - let in some fresh air
